On Jan 10 at Bondi near Sydney a group of the faithful held a short pilgrimage to the tomb of Eileen O'Connor.
Beginning with Benediction at St. Ann's, Bondi, the pilgrims made their way to the tomb of Eileen O'Connor where a High Mass was celebrated on the anniversary of her death at the Convent chapel of Our Lady's Nurses of the Poor.
40 people took part in the pilgrimage with a further 70 waiting at the Chapel. Being only the 2nd such pilgrimage organised and with Eileen O'Connor's cult steadily growing we pray that soon Australia will have her second Saint.
The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Terence Mary Naughtin, currently at Wangaratta and was assisted by Fr. Marko Rehak as Deacon and David Sainty as Sub-Deacon.
Eileen O'Connor's attachment to the North-East can not be overlooked as her spiritual director and co-founder of the 'Brown Nurses' Fr. Edward McGrath originated himself from Yarrawonga, 50km North of Wangaratta and home town of Fr. Terence.
